Public transpot in
Dubrovnik is well-organised. The typical, easy-to-recognise, orangy
buses (Libertas company), can take you to and from Pile and Ploce (Old
Town), Port Gruz, Lapad and Babin Kuk.
As well as that, Libertas busses
provide transport from Dubrovnik to some of surrounding places such as
Zupa Dubrovacka (Mlini, Srebreno, Kupari, Plat), Cavtat and Peljesac.
www.libertasdubrovnik.hr is not entirely translated to English language,
but you can still look for buses’ timetables there. The cost of one
ticket for transport within city is 8kn if you buy it in advance, or
10kn if you buy it from a driver. Make sure that you validate you ticket
by using the front door to get in (back doors are for exits only)
and putting the ticket through the machine which is located next to a
driver. This kind of ticket is valid for one hour, during which time you
can take different buses. Other option is buying a daily ticket (valid
24hrs) at cost of 25kn.
If you decide to take Libertas buses to go to
places surrounding Dubrovnik, the price would be a bit higher (depends
on where exactly you are going), and you can buy it from the bus driver
