East of Orebic, the main road twists up into the mountains before reaching, after 15km, the turning to the lazy port of TRPANJ (served by 4 buses daily from Orebić), which lies at the end of a ravine on Pe1ješac's northern coast.
It's not a bad place in which to get stuck, with a couple of cafes on the Riva, a tree-shaded pebble beach at the end of the harbour and views of the Makarska Riviera's dramatic mountain backdrop on the other side of the water. The tourist office (Mon-Sat 8am-2pm & 4-8pm, Sun 8am-2pm) on the front has plenty of rooms, and there are ferries to Ploče on the mainland proper, where you can pick up buses north to Split or south to Dubrovnik. Back on the main road, it's another 18km to the turn-off for TRSTENIK, on the peninsula's southern side, another pleasant destination set tight against the hills behind a couple of tiny beaches. A further 14km along the main road at Dubrava there's a minor road (not served by bus) down to one of the best beaches on the coast at Zuljana, 6km away - a tiny resort built round a sheltered bay at the foot of a steep rocky gorge. There's a tourist office with unreliable opening times right on the beach, plenty of private rooms and a reasonable campsite, the Bryezi. For food, there are a couple of unpretentious bar-restaurants on the harbourfront, where you'll also see signs advertising boat trips to even more remote beaches.
